Baby Bounce Storytime

Join Librarian Sara for a Baby Bounce Storytime specially designed for our tiniest library friends and their caregivers. Each week, we will explore the magic of stories, songs, and movement in a welcoming space that encourages bonding and fun. This is the perfect place to meet other families, build early learning skills, and make memories with your little one. Baby Bounce is about 20 minutes followed by Stay & Play time. Caregivers are welcome to bring a blanket for their babies to lay on. This program is appropriate for infants and pre-walking babies, ages 0-12 months. Weaving Stories: Art Workshop

Early Learning Playtime

Learn while you play at this drop-in playtime for our littlest patrons. This program is for children ages 0 to 5 and their caregivers. This program will be in the Library Program Room. No registration is required, but space is limited. Doors will close when the room is full. Furry Reading Buddy K-5th Grades

Buddy up with a furry friend and read aloud from your favorite book! Practice your reading skills and build up your self-confidence reading to a patient and furry listener (fully trained therapy dog). This program is for children who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade. Parents are asked to remain in the room during the 10-minute reading session. Children must register for this program in-person at the Children’s Reference Desk, and may register for one reading session each month. Friday Fun: Grab-&-Go: Halloween Paper Lanterns

Join us every Friday for a new craft activity. This week, we’ll make super cute Halloween paper lanterns. This will be a grab-and-go format. Customers can take kits of craft supplies home to make the lanterns. They will need to use their own supplies including scissors, pen/pencil, and glue. Free. No registration required. For ages 6 and up. Staff might limit the number of craft kits per family to ensure more families can participate. Supplies are limited so priority will be given to children and teens who are present at the program. Everyone Can Create: Beginning Stop Motion Animation

Children ages 8-14 are invited to this fun, in-person introduction to stop motion animation. Participants will use the Stop Motion Studio app to make simple stop motion animations. Students will learn about the different tools used to create an animation which they will be able to use in a series of fun and engaging projects. Participants will have an opportunity to showcase their work at the end of the session. iPad devices will be provided to all participants to use. Friday Fun: Owl Pellet Dissection
Time: 4:00 PM | Location: Willow Glen Library - Community Room
What did the Barn Owl have for dinner? Children (ages 5-12) will dissect an owl pellet & analyze the bones of the prey of the barn owl. Each child will go home with a bag of rodent bones from the dissection! In addition to the hands-on science activities, children’s books and a mini puppet show will enhance the understanding of the science concepts. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Willow Glen Branch Library. Learn to design in Tinkercad and see your creation come to life with our 3D printer! Each class introduces a new technique in Tinkercad or other 3D design tools.
