Student-Led Chess Class for Kids

Enroll your child in a week-long chess class! This introductory chess class provides a structured, immersive experience designed to take beginners from knowing basic piece movements to playing full, strategic games. Through daily 2-hour sessions, students build a strong foundation in tactics, board vision, and sportsmanship. Your child will have receive a workbook they will complete through the series of classes. By the end of the week, they will be ready to play chess! This class will take place every afternoon from 3:00-5:00PM on Monday, August 3rd through Thursday, August 6th. When you sign up your child, you are committing to the class for the week. For the kids who attend Monday through Thursday, will be invited to participate in a Chess Tournament on Friday, August 7th from 2:30-5:30 PM. This program is for kids 6-14 only. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required. This program is an approved Passion Project Proposal and will be led by Morgan Hill high school student, Sharanya Chudgar, volunteering to share their passion with the community!
