STEAM: Beams and Bands with the Tech Museum

Participants will get to build their own designs using giant wooden dowels and rubber bands. This is an open ended engineering activity where participants can explore how strong shapes and balance are used to create a stable structure. Recommended for kids: Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. Tickets for our beams and bands program will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis at the Information Desk starting at 2:30 p.m., 30 minutes before the program. 40 tickets will be handed out. Only the children participating in the activity will need a ticket; parents, guardians, and/or siblings older than sixth grade can help/watch.
