Join us for a student-led workshop on the brain and how our senses play tricks on us through different illusions. This program is for kids aged 8-13. We will dive into the science of how our brains and eyes work together - and how they sometimes get things hilariously wrong. Through mind-bending illusions and DIY crafts, participants will explore why we see things that aren't really there, discover how our brain processes shapes, color, and motion, and create their own optical illusion to take home! This is a student-led program. Registration is encouraged but not mandatory. Caregivers do not need to be present during the program, but they do need to remain in the library and be available for their children. For accessibility accommodations (ex. ASL), please fill out the online form at sccld.org/accessibility 7+days prior to the event. If you need assistance with the form, speak with a staff member at your local library, call (408) 540-3945, or email us at ask@sccl.org.
