Duck and Cover, An Explosion of Science! - Monthly STEM Workshop

Join us for our monthly STEM Workshop presented by teen volunteers in Girls Empowered in Math and Science (GEMS)! This one-hour workshop includes a brief presentation explaining the concepts involved in the activities.Welcome to Duck and Cover, An Explosion of Science! This October, GEMS. is hosting a natural disaster-themed workshop with three hands-on simulation activities. Participants will begin by creating their very own erupting volcanoes, and will then build an earthquake shake table to investigate the effects of earthquake shock waves. Finally, students will explore tectonic plate movement with a sugary graham cracker challenge. Protect your head and hold on tight - this month’s workshop will be erupting with science!Free. No registration required.
