The Happy Birds Show includes over 25 amazing tricks performed by the show’s famous talking and singing parrots! It is fast-paced and interactive fun for the whole family. Arrive at 10:30 to decorate a book bag or bucket hat. Happy Birds will begin at 11am.

Please join us in this Cajon drum circle with Cunamacue! Participants will get the chance to be part of the rhythm making and connect that to Spanish syllables and words. Learn more about Afro-Peruvian musical traditions in this fun, lively, and inclusive class, where everyone can help make the beat! Space is limited for this program, so please arrive early! MAIN: Friends of the Sunnyvale Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library is hosting a two-day book sale. Join us in the Library Program Room, where you will find books for children and adults, movies on DVD and Blu-Ray, and music CDs. There will be items in English as well as other languages. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (members only at 9 a.m.) Sunday: noon to 3 p.m. ($5 bag sale) Sunday is a $5 Bag Sale, where you buy a bag for $5 and fill it with what fits. While the Library opens at 1 p.m., the Bag Sale begins at noon. Only the Book Sale will be accessible from noon until the Library opens at 1 p.m. All sales help sponsor library programs and promote literacy. We accept multiple forms of payment, including cash, checks, credit and debit. Become a member at the sales. Membership is $10 for individuals per year. Become a Life Member for $200. Inclusive Sensory Movement & Regulation Workshop~ REGULACION SENSORIAL CON MUSICA

In collaboration with JMM Dance Co., Gilroy Library is hosting monthly Inclusive Sensory Movement and Regulation workshops every third Sunday for the rest of 2026. These workshops will introduce families to sensory regulation through gentle, structured movement activities grounded in rhythm, body awareness, and emotional safety. Led by trained JMM Dance Co. facilitators, children are invited to participate at their own comfort level—moving, observing, or resting as needed. Activities are designed to support self-regulation, confidence, and connection without pressure to perform, making the experience accessible for children with autism and other sensory processing differences. National Chicken Month at Charles Street Gardens

Come join the fun and learn all about chickens! Charles Street Garden’s lead Chicken Tender will be there to educate you, show you around and meet their chickens. We will also have a storytime and craft. Please wear clothing suitable for outdoor activities. Rain cancels this event. Room: Offsite, Charles Street Gardens Audience: School-age children and their caregivers. Teens are encourage to come check out the gardens. All-ages arts and crafts! Adults, teens, and kids — join us for an afternoon of relaxed crafting on the third Sunday of the month. Supplies are provided for you to explore a surprise art activity. This craft is self-directed; children must come with their responsible adult crafting-buddy. The room closes at 3:30 PM, so please give yourself enough time to finish your craft. Although if you like, you are welcome to complete it at home.

Learning Chinese language and Culture For Kids Ages 8-13 years old
Time: 2:00 PM | Location: Gilroy Library - First Floor Children’s Area
Join us for an interactive program designed to help participants learn basic Chinese language skills and develop an appreciation for Chinese culture through fun and engaging activities. All materials will be provided. This program focuses on traditional Chinese. The program runs for 8 weeks, meeting twice per week, with 1‑hour sessions. This is a free program for Children ages 8 to 13 years old. Space is limited to 20 people, and REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for each session. The class schedule is as follows Saturdays 2pm and Sundays 2pm in September and October This program is offered in partnership between TECO (Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office).and Gilroy Library Classes will be taught by Linda Chen, a Mandarin teacher at Branham High School with over 20 years of experience teaching Mandarin.
