Musical Jamboree With Stay and Play!

It’s a musical jamboree! Join us as we make music together in this silly, song-and-dance-filled storytime for all ages. This event will be held in the children’s room at the Atherton Library. After Storytime, join us for Stay and Play where kids and their caregivers can practice interpersonal skills, and have fun learning to share and socialize!
Baby Bounce Storytime

Baby storytime centers around parent/caregiver-child interactions. This storytime is developmentally appropriate for newborns and babies up to 18 months old. Please join us for rhymes, lap bounces, singing, instruments and a book or two.
The Great Library Book Adventure With Ricky Roo & Friends

When the mischievous pirate Captain Bluebeard sneaks into the library and steals a book to take back to his island, the whole library is in trouble! Luckily, a brave child from the audience steps up to the challenge. Together with Ricky Roo and his puppet friends, they set off on a silly adventure to get the book back and teach the pirate an important lesson: library books are meant to be shared—checked out, enjoyed, and returned—for the whole community.A laugh-out-loud puppet show filled with jokes, audience participation, and a heartwarming message about books, libraries, and community. Perfect for young readers and future library lovers! This program will replace our regular Storytime.
Toddler Storytime

Wonderful Ones Storytime

Line Dancing with Sandy and Kent
Time: 3:30 PM | Location: Mitchell Park - Mitchell Park Bowl
Description Join Sandy and Kent for a family-friendly line dancing class! Exercise your brain and body and enhance your balance while dancing to a variety of international music. No partner needed and beginners welcome! You are welcome to practice before and after by checking out their special playlist for this class. This class will take place in the Mitchell Park Bowl. (In the event of rain, the class will move to the Midtown Room inside the Mitchell Park Library.) Sandy and Kent have taught line dancing throughout the Bay Area for ten years. Learn more about them on their YouTube channel . Registration is not required. If you register, you will get an email reminder for the program including a link to the class playlist to practice.
Family Craft: Pick Your Own!

Description Choose from a variety of craft supplies to create whatever you want! Paws for Tales

Do you have a reluctant reader? Sign your child up for a session to practice reading with a therapy dog at the library. Studies show that children who may not want to read in front of their peers are much less anxious with an animal present. Children don’t perceive animals as judgmental, and reading to an animal helps them become more confident readers. We’d like to thank our partners for making this possible: Pet Assisted Therapy teams and their handlers from the Peninsula Humane Society & the SPCA’s Paws for Tales program.Space is limited, so register early for your 10-minute slot at smcl.org/pawsfortales!
