Baby Lap-Sit Storytime (Age 0-1)

Join us for Baby Lap-Sit Storytime at the Library! Baby storytime is the perfect way to learn about early literacy with your non-walking baby. Join us in a friendly circle as we read board books together and sing fun songs to engage your non-walking children. Baby Storytime will take place in the Children’s Room before our Library opens - please note that you will need to enter through the Garden Gate on the very right side of the building, instead of entering through our main entrance doors. JAMaROO Kids: Music & Movement

Come clap your hands, stomp your feet, and shake your hips to the rhythm and the beat! In the JAMaROO Kids Music & Movement classes, we’ll sing traditional songs and learn original ones too (many written by our own teachers). Our music curriculum has been developed to spark creativity and incorporate imaginative play. Through movement activities, children will build gross motor skills, directly encouraging strength, balance, and coordination. Our teachers will use bean bags, scarves, shakers, rhythm sticks, and other equipment to make classes more interactive and hands-on. At JAMaROO Kids all of our music, dance, and yoga curriculum is developed to support and foster all five key areas of development: Cognitive, Speech & Language, Gross Motor Development, Fine Motor Development, Social and Emotional.

Paws for Tales

Do you have a reluctant reader? Sign your child up to have their own session to practice reading with a therapy dog at the library. Studies show that children who may not want to read in front of their peers are much less anxious with an animal present. Children don’t perceive animals as judgmental, and reading to an animal helps them become more confident readers. We’d like to thank our partners for making this possible: Pet Assisted Therapy teams and their handlers from the Peninsula Humane Society & the SPCA’s Paws for Tales program. Coding with Swift Playground

Get started with Swift, the language used to create apps and programs for iOS and macOS. The program is self-paced and will introduce the language and get participants started with the Swift Playgrounds app. iPads will be provided however, they are limited, so registration will be required. If slots are available at the start of the program we will accept walk-ins. Who Can Join: Perfect for 5-10-year-olds who can read and follow written instructions! 2026 Summer Reading Program: Let’s take a crack at Geodes

Come enjoy a fun night to explore the world of geodes. In this program, you will learn the various types of geode formation, inside colors, as well as the challenges and rewards of geode hunting. Cumulating excitement is a live demonstration of breaking open geodes to reveal the hidden beauty of crystals. This is a family program. All is welcome! No registration is required.
