Digital Discovery Workshop: Explore, Create, and Play with Tech

Ready to build, play, and discover with technology? Join our 2-day Digital Discovery Workshop for students entering grades 1 to 3. Led by experienced educators, this hands-on program introduces young learners to exciting STEAM topics like coding, robotics, digital literacy, and digital design. They will build foundational tech skills while using their imagination and having fun along the way. This workshop is designed for beginners and takes place in a welcoming, supportive environment. No prior experience is needed. Daily Workshop Schedule Thursday, July 23 to Friday, July 24 Drop-off: 9 to 9:15 a.m.Program Time: 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.Pick-up: 4:15 to 4:30 p.m. Important Information: Free. Join us for songs and bounces just right for babies 0 to 12 months. After storytime, stay for playtime. This program is for babies 0 to 12 months and their caregivers. No older siblings please. This program will be in the Library Program Room. No registration required, but space is limited. Doors will close when the room is full. Participating in the Reading to Children program is a great way for children to develop their imagination and spark a love for books, reading and learning. Children will enjoy one-on-one or small group interaction with our volunteer. Kids are also welcome to practice reading to our volunteer. Explore Possibilities with Nature Journaling

Description Poet Mary Oliver ‘s advice for life is to “pay attention, be astonished, and tell about it” — something you can do on the road or even close to home! Nature journaling is one such activity that encourages you to pay close attention to your surroundings, get curious, and put it all down on paper so you can easily share or reflect on your own memories and experiences. During this workshop, attendees will be led through a series of exercises to warm up their eyes and hands. We will venture outside, sketching as we go. Pencils and small sketchbooks, as well as a resource list, will be provided to use and take home. No artistic experience is necessary! This workshop is about the process, and people of all levels are encouraged to attend. Due to the outdoor location of this event, children and tweens should be accompanied by their adult.
