Early Learning Playtime
Time: 3:00 PM | Location: Sunnyvale Library
Learn while you play at this drop-in playtime for our littlest patrons. This program is for children ages 0 to 5 and their caregivers. This program will be in the Library Program Room. No registration is required, but space is limited. Doors will close when the room is full. Description We have the LEGOs! Bring your imagination and build something fun! LEGOs will stay at the library, so be sure to snap a pic of your creation! In addition to being a great way to introduce the engineering and art concepts of STEAM, playing with LEGO’s supports early childhood development because children engage in problem solving, teamwork, self-confidence, and creativity!
Gear Up! Designing for a Purpose
Time: 4:30 PM | Location: Rinconada Library - Embarcadero Room
Description Join us for a hands-on exploration of robotics and the design thinking process! Participants will practice hands-on engineering skills using the Hummingbird Bit Kit , and work towards a cumulative project over the course of this one-week summer workshop. Students will learn how to block code, use sensors, and combine design thinking with technical skills. Walk away with a newfound excitement for engineering! Program hosted by members of Gatorbotics, Castilleja High School ‘s competitive FRC team. Recommended for ages 7-11.
