ASL for Babies

Learn American Sign Language for babies with experts from Happy Baby Signs. This program is for expectant parents and parents of children 0 to 24 months. Children are welcome to attend. This program will be in the Library Program Room. No registration is required, but space is limited. Doors will close when the program is full. One-On-One Reading Coach for Kids

Time: 4:00 PM | Location: Cambrian Library - Children’s Area Juvenile Graphic Novel Horseshoe Table

Our One-on-One Reading Tutor for Kids provides students in grades K-3 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a reading coach. Our reading coach creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. Our reading coach will listen to children read and provide support in phonics, sight words, and comprehension. Students can bring their favorite book or choose from the available selection at the Cambrian Branch Library to read aloud to their reading coach.Free. Pre-registration not required. However, reading sessions are available on a first come, first served basis and the duration of reading sessions will be 15 minutes. (A little longer session may be permitted, provided there are no other participants). Participants can also use their session to read away their fines! Just inform your coach (open to youth only). Please note, that the One-On-One Reading Tutor for Kids is a program to encourage young readers to practice their reading skills with an adult volunteer. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers! Following the Storytime, kids will learn to make a simple and creative craft to take home! On the 4th Tuesday of each month, a bilingual story will be read during this program. Everyone Can Create: Beginning Stop Motion Animation

Time: 4:30 PM | Location: Joyce Ellington Library - Community Room

Children ages 8 to14 are invited to this fun, in-person introduction to stop motion animation. Also anyone of any age could attend. Participants will use the Stop Motion Studio app to make simple stop motion animations. Students will learn about the different tools used to create an animation which they will be able to use in a series of fun and engaging projects.   Participants will have an opportunity to showcase their work at the end of the session. iPad devices will be provided to all participants to use. If you choose to bring your own iPad you would like to use, you can download the free Stop Motion Studio app in advance.  All materials will be provided. Santa Teresa Junior Math Club

Want to grow in understanding basic math concepts and working on basic competitive math skills? Join us in Santa Teresa Junior Math Club and see your math and problem-solving skills improve!
