Weekend Baby Lap-Sit Storytime (Age 0-1)

Join us for Baby Lap-Sit Storytime at the Library! Baby storytime is the perfect way to learn about early literacy with your non-walking baby. Join us in a friendly circle as we read board books together and sing fun songs to engage your non-walking children. Baby Storytime will take place in the Children’s Room before our Library opens - please note that you will need to enter through the Garden Gate on the very right side of the building, instead of entering through our main entrance doors. The Los Gatos Library recognizes the diversity of our community and is committed to accessibility for all patrons. Family Storytime

Description Join Librarian Rebecca on Sunday mornings at 11:00AM for Family Storytime at Rinconada Library. Come sing, rhyme, and read stories with us! While this storytime will be geared towards those older than 2 years, all ages are welcome! Make sure to follow us on YouTube for more stories, songs and rhymes, including a playlist of all of our favorite songs to sing!
Baby Sign and Sing

Join us for Sign and Sing for Babies in our first floor program room! This program is for infants and prewalking babies only, ages 0-12 months. Adult Caregivers will learn basic signs to communicate with their babies. Generously sponsored by the Friends of Cupertino Library. For accessibility accommodations (ex. (Virtual) Chess Club

Are you interested in playing and learning chess? If so, sign up to attend this fun virtual Chess Club hosted by Seven Trees Branch Library! You will be paired up with other kids to play real chess games using virtual chess boards online. Our volunteers are also very knowledgeable and can teach you several strategies and tips, through fun activities and interactive games. The games will be played online using a safe platform. You are encouraged to sign up for a free account at lichess.org, so you can join our online club to play games with us! Chess Club takes place weekly, and you are free to play every week, or drop in and out if you like. You only need to register once and you’ll be added to our roster. Age: 5-12 years old (Elementary to Middle School). Date: Every Sunday from 1:00pm - 2:30pm. Registration: Please register on this page to attend the weekly sessions (an email address is required). The Zoom link and password will be emailed before class each week. Software: No software is required to download, but you must have a computer with Internet and a web browser to access the lichess.org website. This program will be held online via Zoom. Crochet Workshop! (Ages 7-17)
Time: 1:30 PM | Location: Mitchell Park Library - Midtown Rom
Description Join Crochet Circle for a hands-on, creative workshop designed to bring enthusiastic youth together through the art of crocheting. Led by skilled and passionate teen crocheters, this session offers guided instruction in core techniques while fostering a welcoming and supportive learning environment. Participants will gain practical skills, learn at their own pace, and create a simple project to take home, making this workshop both educational and rewarding. Whether you’re picking up a hook for the first time or looking to refine and expand your existing skills, this workshop is thoughtfully designed to meet you where you are. Crocheting is more than a craft; it’s a creative outlet, a calming practice, and a way to connect with others. Anyone can crochet, and this workshop is the perfect place to begin or grow your journey. Registration only - please only register if you are between the ages of 7-17. Accompanying adults do not need to register. If you are unable to make your reservation, please cancel it so that others from the waitlist can join.
Math Club

Improve your math skills and apply them through fun math-related activities! Participants will focus on a variety of math concepts and do hands-on math activities in this weekly drop-in program. For children in grades 3-5 only. Registration not required. Instruction on the week’s concept will occur during the first 15-20 minutes, so please arrive on time. Science Academy Presents: Lava Lamp

Participating in the Reading to Children program is a great way for children to develop their imagination and spark a love for books, reading and learning. Children will enjoy one-on-one or small group interaction with our adult volunteer. They are also welcome to practice reading to our volunteer. Pre-registration is not required, and children may drop in to hear a story any time during the program. Everyone Can Create: Hello Kitty Maker

Let’s make a digital Hello Kitty creation together! During this program patrons will be able to draw, color, and decorate their own kawaii designs on an iPad, then watch their artwork pop into fun 3D scenes. STEM Sundays: 3D Printing Design

Join us at the Alviso Branch Library where we will host special STEM themed programs on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month. For each STEM Sunday, we will feature a fun, hands-on activity to help learners develop their Science, Tech, Engineering, or Math skills and experience. Some of the activities will be done in groups at Alviso branch while others may be kits you can work on at the library or take home!On this day, we will be working with Tinkercad to design a 3D model that we can print! We will follow a tutorial to guide our design. We will only print designs based off the tutorial. Not all prints will be made the day of the program so participants are encouraged to return to pick up their prints later in the week. Storytime is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities such as stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement activities. Storytime is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of reading and learning for all ages. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers! After Storytime concludes, families are invited to Stay & Play! For 30 minutes after storytime, special, age-appropriate toys will be available to keep the fun going. The librarian will also be there to answer any questions, recommend books, and talk to families! Best for children ages 0-8 with their caregivers; all families welcome! Until 5pm the Storytime librarian and special toys will be on the Children’s Room floor to keep the fun going.
