Reading Buddies
Time: 10:00 AM | Location: Berryessa Library - Children’s Area
Reading Buddies provides students in grades K-3 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a reading coach. Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. Our reading coach will listen to children read and provide support in reading and comprehension. Students can bring their favorite book or choose from the available selection at the Berryessa Branch Library. Free. Tickets can be picked up at the Information Desk up to 30 minutes before the program begins. Tickets are limited. Please bring ticket and wait close to “Read to Children” sign in Children’s Area. Crochet Together

Bike Safety Information and Repair Workshop
Time: 10:30 AM | Location: Sunnyvale Library
Is your bike in need of a repair or tune-up? Not sure how to tell if your bike is safe to ride? Need to patch your bike’s inner tube? Bring your bike to the Library Plaza! Volunteers from Bike Sunnyvale (the local chapter of the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition) will be onsite to teach the ABC Quick Check, share safety tips, give out bicycle goodies and answer other bike-related questions. Professional bike mechanic Ryan Murphy will be available for advice and help with issues like changing a tire or adjusting gears or brakes. Assistance from Ryan will be first come, first served. Note: Sunnyvale Public Library and Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition do not have spare bicycle parts for replacements. Generously sponsored by the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library. Family Storytime With Stay and Play!

Get ready to learn and play with your little one! Hear new stories, sing songs and learn wiggles that the whole family can enjoy together, from toddlers to grown-ups. This event will be held in the children’s room at the Atherton Library. Storytime will be held the first 30 minutes of the hour. After Storytime, join us for Stay and Play, where kids and their caregivers can practice interpersonal skills and have fun learning to share and socialize!

Want to learn more about STEM? Our Kids in STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, Math] program at Gilroy Library will explore these subjects and will teach kids about careers in STEM. They will get a chance to do arts and crafts projects to help them understand the subjects. The workshops will be led by our teen volunteers. This workshop is for kids in 2nd-5th grades. ¿Quieres aprender más sobre STEM?
