Tai Chi with Nelson Ng

Time: 10:00 AM | Location: Rinconada Library - Embarcadero Room

Description Join us for Tai Chi sessions with Nelson Ng! In this weekly class, participants will learn the basic principles and the philosophy behind Tai Chi, gaining flexibility and a better sense of balance through slow, gentle movement. Nelson started learning Chen’s Tai Chi in 1989 from Master Gene Chen, who was a disciple of Grandmaster Feng ZhiQiang. Nelson has been teaching since 2014. This class is free and open to beginners as well as those who have previous Tai Chi experience. People of all ages are welcome. You must sign in upon arrival.

(Virtual) Chess Club

Are you interested in playing and learning chess? If so, sign up to attend this fun virtual Chess Club hosted by Seven Trees Branch Library! You will be paired up with other kids to play real chess games using virtual chess boards online. Our volunteers are also very knowledgeable and can teach you several strategies and tips, through fun activities and interactive games. The games will be played online using a safe platform. You are encouraged to sign up for a free account at lichess.org, so you can join our online club to play games with us! Chess Club takes place weekly, and you are free to play every week, or drop in and out if you like. You only need to register once and you’ll be added to our roster. Age: 5-12 years old (Elementary to Middle School). Date: Every Sunday from 1:00pm - 2:30pm. Registration: Please register on this page to attend the weekly sessions (an email address is required). The Zoom link and password will be emailed before class each week. Software: No software is required to download, but you must have a computer with Internet and a web browser to access the lichess.org website. This program will be held online via Zoom. Monthly STEM Workshop

Join us for our monthly STEM Workshop presented by teen volunteers in Girls Empowered in Math and Science (GEMS)! This one-hour workshop includes a brief presentation explaining the concepts involved in the activities.Ever wondered how the water cycle works? This month’s workshop, Rain & Recycle, brings the atmosphere indoors for a colorful experiment! Participants will build a water filter and learn how to make dirty water clean. Additionally, they will simulate how water droplets saturate the air until they break through as rain using shaving cream and vibrant dyes. Join us this March for an exciting workshop based on the precipitation cycle! Free. No registration required. Troo’s Friendship Lab
