Tai Chi with Nelson Ng

Description Join us for Tai Chi sessions with Nelson Ng! In this weekly class, participants will learn the basic principles and the philosophy behind Tai Chi, gaining flexibility and a better sense of balance through slow, gentle movement. Nelson started learning Chen’s Tai Chi in 1989 from Master Gene Chen, who was a disciple of Grandmaster Feng ZhiQiang. Nelson has been teaching since 2014. This class is free and open to beginners as well as those who have previous Tai Chi experience. People of all ages are welcome. You must sign in upon arrival.
Family Storytime

Description Join Librarian Rebecca on Sunday mornings at 11:00AM for Family Storytime at Rinconada Library. Come sing, rhyme, and read stories with us! While this storytime will be geared towards those older than 2 years, all ages are welcome! Baby Sign and Sing

Drop-In Sewing Machine Basics

Interested in picking up the fun life-skill of sewing? Not sure how to get started? Our Drop-in Sewing Machine Basics session will be perfect for you! You’ll be guided on all the basics of using a Baby Lock Jubilant machine. From winding a bobbin, threading the machine, to running some simple stitches. We’ll help you learn some best practices and gain skills that you can use on future projects. No registration is required but sewing machines and space are limited. All ages are welcome!Participants aged 12 and younger are welcome to attend with caregiver supervision.
Sunday Game Day

We welcome children, teens, adults, and families to play a variety of board games and card games at the Edenvale Branch Library, every first Sunday of the month. OneinMath: Math Program for K-3rd at Educational Park

Join us for a free math program for Kindergarten to 3rd grade students to learn basic arithmetic. Including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division from one digit to four digit numbers. It is taught by trained high school students. The focus is to build confidence and love for math in young students. Reading to Children with Vivian

Participating in the Reading to Children program is a great way for children to develop their imagination and spark a love for books, reading and learning. (Virtual) Chess Club

Are you interested in playing and learning chess? If so, sign up to attend this fun virtual Chess Club hosted by Seven Trees Branch Library! You will be paired up with other kids to play real chess games using virtual chess boards online. Our volunteers are also very knowledgeable and can teach you several strategies and tips, through fun activities and interactive games. The games will be played online using a safe platform. You are encouraged to sign up for a free account at lichess.org, so you can join our online club to play games with us! Chess Club takes place weekly, and you are free to play every week, or drop in and out if you like. You only need to register once and you’ll be added to our roster. Age: 5-12 years old (Elementary to Middle School). Date: Every Sunday from 1:00pm - 2:30pm. Registration: Please register on this page to attend the weekly sessions (an email address is required). The Zoom link and password will be emailed before class each week. Software: No software is required to download, but you must have a computer with Internet and a web browser to access the lichess.org website. This program will be held online via Zoom. Math Club

Improve your math skills and apply them through fun math-related activities! Participants will focus on a variety of math concepts and do hands-on math activities in this weekly drop-in program. For children in grades 3-5 only. Registration not required. Instruction on the week’s concept will occur during the first 15-20 minutes, so please arrive on time. Piggy Bank Pioneers

Piggy Bank Pioneers: A Playful Path to Financial Literacy Join members of Mountain View High School’s Personal Finance Club to improve your financial literacy skills through a fun, interactive game! This month’s game will be “Shark Tank,” designed for children ages 7-10, in which players will collaborate in teams to develop business ideas and create simple prototypes of their products or services, and then request funding to bring their inventions to life. Please note that space will be limited and advance registration is required. When registering the number of attendees, only count the number of children who will be participating in the event (do not include any caregivers, though caregivers should plan to accompany their children). Family Community Gardening

Come join us at the Charles Street Gardens to learn all about the importance of a community garden! Children will learn about plants and seeds. They will have an opportunity to plant a seed to take home. This program is for school age children and their caregivers. Please wear clothing suitable for outdoor activities. Rain cancels this event. This program will be held at Charles Street Gardens, 433 Charles Street.
