Baby Lap-Sit Storytime (Age 0-1)

Join us for Baby Lap-Sit Storytime at the Library! Baby storytime is the perfect way to learn about early literacy with your non-walking baby. Join us in a friendly circle as we read board books together and sing fun songs to engage your non-walking children. Baby Storytime will take place in the Children’s Room before our Library opens - please note that you will need to enter through the Garden Gate on the very right side of the building, instead of entering through our main entrance doors. Are You Ready to Learn With Andre Thierry

The “ARE YOU READY TO LEARN” music program allows children and their families to explore the rich Creole culture and Zydeco music of Southwest Louisiana. Grammy-nominated Andre Thierry leads the musical adventure with an interactive, engaging experience that combines traditional and newly composed music. The gathering showcases a mix of African and Native American Blues, French Creole dance melodies, and elements of Afro-Caribbean music. Children sing and dance while learning about popular Zydeco instruments, such as the vest rubboards, drums, and accordions.This program will replace our regular Bilingual Storytime.

Music and Movement is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities through songs, rhymes, finger plays, and movement activities. It is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of learning for all ages. This program is best suited for children aged 2 to 5 years old, accompanied by their families or caregivers. We’ll move and groove to our action songs using shakers, tapping sticks, scarves, and more, and listen to fun and educational stories. We will also meet our favorite Teddy Bear. Free, with limited capacity. Seating for Storytime is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Come practice your reading skills and read aloud one on one with a furry friend! Each 15-minute session is with a specially trained therapy dog and their volunteer. Reading Buddies in the Gilroy Library will take place the 1st Tuesday of each month starting in September. Sign-ups are first come, first serve until all slots are filled. This 30-minute storytime features movement, singing, and action! Evening Itty-Bitty Jamboree

Adults and their babies (0 to 12 months old) join us for short, fun stories, rhymes, fingerplays, and songs.
