Every Thursday at 11:00 AM, children will enjoy early literacy activities such as stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement activities all in the Japanese language. This program is brought to the library by Poponta Children’s Cultural Society. Established in 2008 and based in San Mateo, Poponta is comprised of a group of volunteers dedicated to serving the Japanese-speaking community. Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. Our volunteers will listen to children read and provide support in phonics, sight words, and comprehension. Homework Club at Edenvale Branch Library

Need help with your homework? Kindergarten through 8th grade students can come to Edenvale Branch Library’s Homework Club to get coached by trained library volunteers. Students can get free help with their homework in subjects such as reading, writing, math, and social studies! Homework Club at Edenvale Branch Library is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, except for the following dates because of City holidays and school breaks: February 17th and 19th Homework Club will end on April 2nd for the 25-26 School Year and take a break for the Summer. The schedule for the Fall semester will be determined and posted in August 2026. Free. No registration is required; however, Homework Club has a limited capacity. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. As a result, students might not be coached one-on-one for the whole duration of the program depending on volunteer availability. Homework Coaching

This program is for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade that need support as they work on their homework. Registration is preferred; walk-ins accepted until 4:15pm if there are seats available. Need help with your homework? Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade can meet with a Homework Coach in the Children’s Room on Thursdays from 4pm - 5:30pm to get homework support. Students must have homework to work on to participate in a session. Free, with limited capacity. Register to guarantee a spot; we will accept walk-ins until 4:15pm if space is available. Are you a student in grades K-6th and need help with homework? We have tutors for you to receive homework help, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. No registration is required. Walk-ins welcome as spaces allows. Basic school supplies will be provided. Please note: As a parent or caregiver, it is mandatory to stay in the room while your child participates in the program. Night Owl Storytime

Join us for Night Owl Storytime at 7 p.m. This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. This program will be in the Library Program Room.
