Baby Storytime will take place in the Children’s Room before our Library opens - please note that you will need to enter through the Garden Gate on the very right side of the building, instead of entering through our main entrance doors. Magic Hour: Sensory-Friendly Library Playtime/Hora Mágica: Tiempo de Juego Sensorial Amigable

Join us for Magic Hour, an inclusive playtime in the library, specially adapted for children with autism, sensory processing challenges, or who struggle in large groups. This program takes place on the fourth Tuesday of the month, when the library will be opened especially for this group. It is a time set aside for children and their caregivers to have a wonderful time at the library when it is closed to everyone else.This self guided play time will have sensory-sensitive toys available and the new play space will be open along with the entire Children’s area. We keep the lights low and use natural lighting, computers are turned off, and the doors are closed to reduce outside noise and help keep runners and wanderers safe. STEAM Club

Children in grades K-3 are invited to join us for STEAM Club every Tuesday from 4:00-5:00 PM. Each week, participants will experience an exciting, new STEAM adventure involving hands-on activities that integrate different aspects of STEAM and showcase how STEAM concepts are applied in the real world (a list of session topics may be found here).This program is free and all materials will be provided. Parents are welcome to attend with their children. Recommended for children in grades K-3, but younger children may attend with parental assistance. Pre-registration not required, but space is limited. Participants must pick up a ticket at the Information Desk, and participants must be present to pick up a ticket (families may not pick up tickets for children who are not there). Homework Club at Edenvale Branch Library

Need help with your homework? Kindergarten through 8th grade students can come to Edenvale Branch Library’s Homework Club to get coached by trained library volunteers. Students can get free help with their homework in subjects such as reading, writing, math, and social studies! Homework Club at Edenvale Branch Library is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, except for the following dates because of City holidays and school breaks: February 17th and 19th Homework Club will end on April 2nd for the 25-26 School Year and take a break for the Summer. The schedule for the Fall semester will be determined and posted in August 2026. Free. No registration is required; however, Homework Club has a limited capacity. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. As a result, students might not be coached one-on-one for the whole duration of the program depending on volunteer availability. Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies provides students in grades K–5 with the opportunity to strengthen their reading skills by working one-on-one with a friendly reading coach. This program creates a positive and supportive reading experience for beginning and developing readers, helping children build confidence and fluency. Our reading coach listens as children read, offering encouragement and support in phonics, sight words, and comprehension. Students may bring a favorite book from home or select one from the library’s collection to read aloud. Reading sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The length of each session may be limited depending on the number of participating students and/or available volunteers.This event series takes place in Group Study Room A. Free.
