Join us for songs and bounces just right for babies 0 to 12 months. After storytime, stay for playtime. This program is for babies 0 to 12 months and their caregivers. No older siblings please. This program will be in the Library Program Room. No registration required, but space is limited. Doors will close when the room is full. Reading to Children in Japanese にほんご おはなし会

Preschool age children and their parents/caregivers are invited to the West Valley Branch Library for Reading to Children in Japanese. Every Thursday at 11:00 AM, children will enjoy early literacy activities such as stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement activities all in the Japanese language. This program is brought to the library by Poponta Children’s Cultural Society. Established in 2008 and based in San Mateo, Poponta is comprised of a group of volunteers dedicated to serving the Japanese-speaking community. Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies provides students in grades K-3 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a volunteer. Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. Our volunteers will listen to children read and provide support in phonics, sight words, and comprehension. Students can bring their favorite book or choose from the available selection at the West Valley Branch Library.Free. Pre-registration not required. Homework Club at Edenvale Branch Library

Need help with your homework? Kindergarten through 8th grade students can come to Edenvale Branch Library’s Homework Club to get coached by trained library volunteers. Students can get free help with their homework in subjects such as reading, writing, math, and social studies! Homework Club at Edenvale Branch Library is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, except for the following dates because of City holidays and school breaks: February 17th and 19th Homework Club will end on April 2nd for the 25-26 School Year and take a break for the Summer. The schedule for the Fall semester will be determined and posted in August 2026. Free. No registration is required; however, Homework Club has a limited capacity. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. As a result, students might not be coached one-on-one for the whole duration of the program depending on volunteer availability.
