Participating in the Reading to Children program is a great way for children to develop their imagination and spark a love for books, reading and learning. Children will enjoy one-on-one or small group interaction with our volunteer. They are also welcome to practice reading to our volunteer. Choose a recipe to make from one of the many cookbooks or other resources in our collection- don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of suggestions for you! Then we’ll meet to talk about books and cooking and enjoy each other’s company. Photos of your finished dish are encouraged but not required. Who doesn’t love a cookie? Crispy, chewy, crumbly, sweet, or savory, let’s meet and chat about them! Make your favorite recipe or browse our cookbook collection in the Library or our ebooks on CloudLibrary , find something that looks interesting to you, and bake! Hot Cocoa Study Break

Take a quick break while you’re studying for finals or finishing end-of-semester school work! Choose your packet in Study Room A and join us by the Makerspace where we’ll have a station for you to fill up a cup of cocoa or cider to enjoy while you study. Milpitas Children’s Chess Club
Time: 6:30 PM | Location: Milpitas Library - Activity Room
Come play chess and make new friends in a fun and relaxed environment! This program is for children from grades 1-8. Registration is not required but space is limited. This program is not a class. Attendees are expected to know the rules of chess and must be able to play independently. Bedtime Storytime

Join us for evening Family Storytime in our program room! This storytime series is suitable for all ages and will feature stories, songs, rhymes and dances, all to encourage the development of crucial early literacy skills. Parents and children will listen together, learn together, and sing together. Storytime is limited to the first 100 families, with a maximum of 2 adults per family group.
