Crochet Together: Wind Spinners

Mt Pleasant Neighborhood Library is hosting a special volunteer-run event, Crochet Together: Wind Spinners!Crochet spinners, also known as wind spinners, are decorative crocheted items that spiral to catch the wind and are hung in gardens, porches, or balconies. Crochet Together is a volunteer-run event teaching participants how to crochet. Participants are welcome to bring their own materials. This event is for experienced beginners. Our quarterly 4-Day Sales feature a large number of books and media from all genres. The sales begin with a preview evening exclusively for Friends members and end with a Bargain Day. Reading To Children

Participating in the Reading to Children program is a great way for children to develop their imagination and spark a love for books, reading and learning. Throughout this 30-minute session, our trained volunteer or a staff member of the library will not only read to your kids but also engage with them using music, felts and finger plays. As a result of participating in Reading to Children, your child will develop imagination and love of books and reading.Reading to Children will take place in the Children’s Area. Music and Movement

Music and Movement is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities through songs, rhymes, finger plays, and movement activities. Music and Movement is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of learning for all ages. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers! Free, 50 person maximum. Story Time tickets required. Another event, Music and Movement B will start at 11:15 for those that weren’t able to make it inside for this event. Seating for Storytime is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of tickets will be distributed at the Information Desk 30 minutes prior to the start of Storytime. Family Storytime at Cupertino Library

Join us for Family Storytime for all ages in our program room! This storytime series is suitable for all ages and will feature stories, songs, rhymes and dances, all to encourage the development of crucial early literacy skills. Parents and children will listen together, learn together, and sing together. Storytime is limited to the first 100 families, with a maximum of 2 adults per family group. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket to sit on.

Volunteer Away Your Fines as a Drop-in Do Gooder

These personalized, teacher-guided workshops give grade school students the extra help they need to excel. Through instruction and hands-on activities using their own personal STEM kits, students will: Build foundational understanding of STEM concepts through engaging, age-appropriate activities.Strengthen problem-solving and critical thinking skills by completing hands-on experiments.Grow confidence in independent learning and STEM exploration at home.Develop communication and collaboration skills through peer and teacher interactions.Foster family engagement in STEM learning through accessible, multilingual materials. Grab & Go: Snoopy Tree Holiday Craft & Holiday Ornament Kit

First come, first served. Supplies are limited. No Registration Required. Children can create their own Snoopy Holiday Tree Craft and one Christmas Tree ornament craft. Due to smart parts and the complexity of the crafts, the crafts are intended for children ages 6 and up (or age 5 with parental help). There will be 2 crafts in total. Each child must be present to receive the craft/s (sorry, none for siblings at home), and they can either assemble in the children’s area or take home.
