Description Join Librarian Heidi on Wednesday mornings at 10:30AM for Little Ones Storytime at Children’s Library. Storytime includes a variety of early literacy activities such as stories, songs, rhymes, and movement activities. Storytime is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of reading and learning for all ages. This program is targeted to children under the age of two and their caregivers.

It’s Halloween, and Dr. Frankenswine, the mad scientist with a penchant for pork, is just one step away from bringing his wacky creation of cold cuts and pork chops to life. All he needs is a brain! Enter Trevor Pig, a trick-or-treater who just happens to ring the wrong doorbell at the right time. Chaos and hilarity ensue as the brainless creature comes to life! Can Trevor escape the clutches of Dr. Frankenswine and his mindless monster? Will Dr. Frankenswine snatch Trevor’s brain? Discover the zany fun in Frankenswine! Happy Baby Signs: ASL Halloween Preschool Storytime (Ages 2-5)

Join William White from Happy Baby Signs for a fun Sign Language Storytime! This workshop introduces several beginning baby signs that are based on American Sign Language (ASL). Learn how to sign your little one’s Halloween costume. We’ll read and sign the book, “ Where’s Baby’s Pumpkin ,” and watch a fun Halloween video, “Knock Knock, Trick Or Treat.” Join this informal hangout with Bill, where you can socialize, ask questions, sing songs, and share your baby’s signing success stories with other parents. You’ll receive the videos to practice afterwards. Halloween costumes are welcome! Ages 2-5 years are welcome. This event is in substitution of Preschool Storytime. XFYD Chess Class for Grades 1-5

Join XFYD Chess Class at Milpitas Library for a fun and interactive experience that helps children develop strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Open to all skill levels, these sessions offer expert guidance in a supportive and engaging environment. This class series is for students in first to fifth grade. This program is presented by our partners at XFYD Bay Area – Milpitas High School and is a 14-part weekly class series. Registration is required and covers all 14 sessions. Registrants who miss the first two sessions will be removed from the program to allow waitlisted students to participate. There are no classes on 11/26/25, 12/24/25, and 12/31/25. Stroll through Columbia Park and read The Little Witch Who Lost Her Broom by Elaine Bickell and Raymond McGrath. There will be a craft at the end of the walk, while supplies last. Stargazing in the Meadow

Join us in the meadow to the north of the Library building for a night of outdoor stargazing. We’ll be observing the upcoming supermoon, which is the largest of the year, as well as other celestial objects. This program is for all ages and is weather permitting. To ensure attendees have enough time at the telescopes, space is limited and registration is required.
