Halloween Family Storytime and Costume Parade at Cupertino Library

Join us for not so scary Halloween Storytime and a parade around the library to show off your Halloween costume! Costume is optional, come join the fun! This storytime series is suitable for all ages and will feature stories, songs, rhymes and dances, all to encourage the development of crucial early literacy skills. Parents and children will listen together, learn together, and sing together. Storytime is limited to the first 100 families, with a maximum of 2 adults per family group. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket to sit on.

Mini Math Festival

Volunteer Away Your Fines as a Branch Buddy

Every now and then, libraries need a little extra love from the communities they serve. You can volunteer away your library fines at a rate of $20 per hour while helping the library maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Volunteers will be responsible for: Cleaning toys and furniture in the children’s area. Other activities may include any of the following: Book cover cleaning – Use disinfecting wipes to reinvigorate dingy books.Bookshelves – Dust shelves and organize library materials.Deep cleaning computers – Use disinfecting wipes to disinfect computer mice and mouse pads and compressed air to remove any dust particles or debris.Material inspection – Check books for torn pages, pen marks, etc. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in volunteering away their library fines. Paint Your Own Alebrije [for Middle School]

Discover the magic of alebrijes, the brightly colored fantastical creatures that originated in Mexican folk art! These imaginative animals, often combining features of different real and mythical creatures, are symbols of creativity and cultural pride. In this hands-on workshop, middle schoolers will learn about the history and traditions behind alebrijes, then paint their very own to take home. Each creation will be as unique and colorful as its artist! All materials provided—just bring your imagination. Reading Buddies for Grades K-5th

Children can buddy up with a furry friend and read one on one from a favorite book. For Kindergarten through 5th grade. Each 20 minute session is with a specially trained therapy dog and volunteer. Reading session time may be shortened if needed to accommodate demand.
Los Gatos Ballet: Nutcracker (Ages 4-8)

The Los Gatos Library has partnered with @GirlsWhoCode to create a club meant for people ages 12-18 to learn to code and change the world! “What will I Learn? Our middle and high school Clubs encourage you to impact the community in a positive way through code. In order to build the skills you need to make an impact, you will learn how to code from our fun online tutorials and activities that will help you build animations, games, apps, and other things that you dream up!
