Baby Lap-Sit Storytime (Age 0-1)

Join us for Baby Lap-Sit Storytime at the Library! Baby storytime is the perfect way to learn about early literacy with your non-walking baby. Join us in a friendly circle as we read board books together and sing fun songs to engage your non-walking children. Baby Storytime will take place in the Children’s Room before our Library opens - please note that you will need to enter through the Garden Gate on the very right side of the building, instead of entering through our main entrance doors. Signs and Rhymes Storytime With Stay and Play!
Time: 10:30 AM | Location: Atherton - Children’s Room
Let’s read, sing, sign and rhyme together! Play together with your little one as we learn simple sign language and fun ways to fingerplay alongside our stories and music each week. This storytime is welcome to all ages, from babies to toddlers to preschoolers and beyond! This event will be held in the children’s room at the Atherton Library. After storytime, join us for Stay and Play where kids and their caregivers can practice interpersonal skills and have fun learning to share and socialize!

Baby Bounce Storytime

Baby storytime centers around parent/caregiver-child interactions. This storytime is developmentally appropriate for newborns and babies up to 18 months old. Please join us for rhymes, lap bounces, singing, instruments and a book or two.
Family Storytime
Time: 11:00 AM | Location: Palo Alto - Children’s Library
Description Join Librarian Jennifer (and Rocky Raccoon) on Tuesdays at 11:00 AM for Family Storytime at Children’s Library! Come sing, rhyme, and read stories with us! While this storytime will be geared towards those older than 2 years, all ages are welcome! BYOS (bring your own scarf)! Some of our songs use scarves as props. Bring something scarf-like (any piece of fabric). Otherwise, you can always pretend! Make sure to follow us on YouTube for more stories, songs and rhymes, including a playlist of all of our favorite songs to sing!
Toddler Storytime
Time: 11:00 AM | Location: Sunnyvale Library
Join us for Toddler Storytime at 11 a.m. This program is for children age 1 to 3 and their caregivers. This program will be in the Library Program Room. No registration required, but space is limited. Doors will close when the room is full. Open Lab: Drop In Memory Lab

Description Join us for a special Lemur Storytime , presented by Palo Alto City Library and Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo . Come see the Junior Museum & Zoo’s ring-tailed lemurs and enjoy stories and songs with our librarians! This storytime is suited for those older than 2 years, but all ages are welcome. Fuse Theatre - Bloom: A Sensory Adventure

“Bloom: A Sensory Adventure” offers young audiences a uniquely immersive experience at the theatre. Designed for children aged 3-5 and their caregivers, this interactive, sensory-rich experience - from the “Good Morning Song” that welcomes everyone with music and ASL, to the imaginative play and problem-solving activities with Squirrel, Ant, Bee, and Bird - every moment is designed to immerse children in the magic of this story. Each element of the show is also crafted to teach important values such as teamwork, community, and the wonders of nature, all while ensuring that children of diverse abilities can join in the adventure. Registration is required for participating children. Adult caregivers do not need to register.

Paws for Tales
Time: 4:00 PM | Location: Woodside
Do you have a reluctant reader? Sign your child up to have their own session to practice reading with a therapy dog at the library. Studies show that children who may not want to read in front of their peers are much less anxious with an animal present. Children don’t perceive animals as judgmental, and reading to an animal helps them become more confident readers. We’d like to thank our partners for making this possible: Pet Assisted Therapy teams and their handlers from the Peninsula Humane Society & the SPCA’s Paws for Tales program. Registration is required and space is limited, so register early for your 10-minute slot.
Lego Builders
Time: 4:00 PM | Location: Sunnyvale Library
Build and create with LEGO using our collection of bricks. This program is recommended for children ages 5 and up and their caregivers. This program will be in the Program Room. No registration required, but space is limited. Doors will close when the room is full. Take some time out of your afternoon to imagine and create! Join us for a crafty activity in the Children’s Room. (Previously known as Tinker Tuesday.) This program is geared towards children ages 3 through ~10. This program takes place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 4 pm in the Children’s Room. LEGO Tuesdays!
